In spirit and pride Vidya Vikas Academy celebrated the Independence Day with great fervour and zeal.
After a brief welcome by Tr. Archana, the national flag was hoisted by our Principal, Mrs Joble Bijoy, followed by the singing of the National Anthem.
A cultural program was also held on the occasion. Some students of the Pre Primary section and a few students of class 6 to 10th sang patriotic songs. A skit depicting the role of our freedom fighters in India’s freedom struggle was performed by some students of class 7 to 9. Dance performances were also displayed by selected students from class 1 to 10. Miss Shrida Talaulikar of class 8 delivered a speech and shared her views about the importance of the glorious day. Shreya Naik of class 7th recited a poem in Hindi emphasizing the importance of the day.
Later the School Principal Mrs Joble Bijoy presented to some students certificates that were awarded to them for participation in various competitions and sports events.
The compere for the programme was Miss Riya D’Cunha from class 11 B. The vote of thanks was presented by Tr. Shabeena Khaji. The program concluded with the singing of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’.
