National Sports Day

In the words of Louis Zamperini, “That’s one thing  you learn in sports. You don’t give up, you fight to the finish.”

In recognition of the importance of sports in one’s life, Vidya Vikas Academy celebrated National Sports Day (Rashtriya Khel Divas) with great zeal. National Sports Day is celebrated every year on 29 August in India as a tribute to our country’s pride, the hockey wizard, Major Dhyan Chand.

The program started with a session by FC Goa Football Clinic wherein the team imparted their tips and tricks to tackle and play every sport, be it hockey, football or volleyball. Skills like shooting, decision making, dribbling, heading, touch and ball control were explained through demonstrations to the students. Later, a special assembly was held in which the Sports Director addressed the students and briefed them about the significance of  the National Sports Day.

A student orated the glory and benefits of playing sports through a speech. A powerpoint presentation was projected that accentuated information on the National Sports Day.

Our Principal shared her views on  the importance of sports in our lives and motivated the students to participate in sports.
