Where Science Meets Creativity

In March 2024, our school’s STEAM lab offered a diverse range of activities to engage students in hands-on learning experiences.

Class 1 began with clay modelling basic shapes, providing a foundational understanding of pottery. Students then progressed to clay molding, creating pots and spoons, fostering creativity and fine motor skills development.

In Class 2, students continued their exploration of pottery with clay preparation and throwing techniques onto plates. They also learned how to use a pottery wheel to create plates, further refining their skills in the craft.

Class 3 focused on clay preparation and the art of making pinch pots, allowing students to explore different techniques and shapes in pottery.

Class 4 expanded on pottery skills with additional clay preparation and throwing exercises, including the creation of lamps. In addition to pottery, students also engaged in basic coding activities using pictoblocks, integrating technology with their creative pursuits.

In Class 5, students continued their pottery journey with clay preparation and throwing, this time focusing on creating pots. They also delved into coding by creating animation movies and interactive games, blending art and technology seamlessly.

Class 6 offered a variety of activities, including experimenting with LED blink circuits (both analog and digital), building line follower robots, and further exploring pottery. Additionally, students had the opportunity to work on individual projects, allowing them to apply their skills and creativity in unique ways.

Overall, March at our school’s STEAM lab provided students with enriching experiences that fostered creativity, technical skills, and a passion for learning in the realm of pottery and beyond.
