“Spelling is the foundation of literacy and literacy is the foundation of knowledge”
Vidya Vikas Academy organized a ‘Spell Bee Competition’ as the activity for the month of July 2024 for classes 6 to 8. The primary objective of conducting this activity is to enhance the students’ language skills, improve vocabulary, and foster a deeper understanding of the English language.
The competition had two rounds. For the first round the main focus was on individual capabilities allowing each student to demonstrate their understanding of spelling, vocabulary, and language rules independently. For the second round, ‘Guess the Correct Spelling’ , students were required to guess the right spelling from the varied options given to them , adding an additional layer of complexity to the contest.
‘Spell Bee Competition’ provided a holistic learning to the students. It developed their self-confidence and public speaking skill.
