Vidya Vikas Academy celebrated National Librarian’s Day from August 12 to August 28, 2024, with a series of engaging events to honor the late Shri Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science. The programme began with a tribute and the lighting of a lamp by Principal Mrs. Joble Bijoy, accompanied by Vice-Principals and Librarians on 12th August, 24. Later a formal ceremony was conducted by students that included a pledge, motivational quotes, and the inauguration of a book exhibition by the Principal.
Throughout the celebration period, various resource persons conducted enriching sessions for different classes. Ms. Kimberly Gomes captivated the Sr. K.G and Class 5 students with animated story narration of “The Indigo Jackal,” “Hansel and Gretel,” and “The Pied Piper of Hamelin.” Ms. Priya Almeida and Ms. Vanica Fernandes led informative sessions on book writing and the importance of reading for Classes 7, 8, and 6, respectively. These interactive sessions significantly enhanced the students’ appreciation for literature and reading.
The entire programme was a valuable and inspiring experience for the students as they gained knowledge about being an author and how to start reading as a hobby.
