Daan Utsav is India’s biggest festival of giving, during which people come together and perform acts of kindness by giving their time, material or money in interesting ways to any cause(s) of their choice. Daan Utsav, earlier called ‘The Joy of Giving Week’, is a “festival of philanthropy”. Launched in 2009, the festival is celebrated every year from October 2 to 8. Daan Utsav is a unique celebration that brings together people from all walks of life and encourages them to celebrate “Giving” – time, money, material, skill or just love. This festival is like Diwali, Eid, or Christmas, except it celebrates “Giving” across all religions, castes and social strata. A fantastic unifier that dissolves boundaries by the pure act of “Giving”. Each year lakhs of individuals and thousands of organizations do good and celebrate.
To commemorate this joyous week of giving, a special assembly was shared with the students on 2nd October, 2021. The aim of the assembly was to make students aware about the joy of giving and contributing towards society. An informative video on Daan Utsav celebration was a part of the special assembly. At the end, the students were enlightened about the need of celebrating Daan Utsav and spreading love.
