Road accidents continue to be a matter of grave concern in our nation and it is a leading cause of deaths despite the government’s concerted efforts. Thus, raising awareness on road safety issues becomes important which is done on the National Road Safety Day. The observance of this day helps citizens to abide by the road safety rules, traffic laws and regulations.
To mark this day, a special assembly video was uploaded for the Senior Secondary students. The video included information about the Road Safety Week which is initiated by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. This year, national road safety day’s theme is “Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha”. Students were made aware about some common driving mistakes, and a few tips to avoid accidents were also listed in the video. The thought ‘Alert today, alive tomorrow’ was highlighted at the end, giving across the message to drive safe and reduce the likelihood of causing injury to oneself and others.
