A special assembly was conducted on 23rd April, 2022 in school hall. The assembly was conducted by students of class 9. The highlight of the assembly was the PowerPoint presentation showcasing the importance of the day.
Miss Anoushka Morais of class 9 C compered the assembly. Master Fynn Gonsalves of class 9C gave an Introduction on World Book Day and Master Neil Furtado of class 9 C briefly stated the importance of the World Book Day. Master Amogh Shanbag of class 9A recited a Pledge which was repeated by other students assembled. Miss Sakshi Shetty of class 9A read about the Importance of Reading. “World Book Day” song was sung by Leah Costa, Emma Fernandes, Liza Marie Fernandes, Vijiya Shaikh, and Anaya Rathod.
Students actively participated in a Quiz on books and authors conducted by Ridhvi Pedneker of Class 9C.The assembly concluded with a song about books.
An exhibition of books was held in the school Library showcasing fiction books for Primary classes were displayed. Students visited the library as per the slots given to them. They enjoyed exploring the various books displayed.
Also, an exhibition of Dictionaries of different languages and Encyclopedias for teachers was displayed.
A small activity was organized for the students who attended the library period wherein they were told to express their thoughts on the Favourite book /author on the soft board displayed. A maximum number of students participated in the activity and wrote very eloquently.
Miss Anshula Jadhav and Shivli Shetty of Class 9C made charts on the theme of World Book Day that were displayed in the library.
