International day against Drug abuse and Illicit Trafficking is observed each year on 26th June to highlight the dangers of drug use, bring awareness to people on how to deal with it and their illegal trade. It also aims to provide educational material to teachers and public officials all over the world to help spread the message about the extreme cultural and economic harm, the trade in drugs is still doing across the globe. The goal of the day is to strengthen global action and cooperation towards creating a society that is free from drug abuse and unlawful trade.
The theme for this year was ‘Addressing drug challenge in health and humanitarian crisis. The global event highlights the physical and psychological impact of substance abuse, drug overdose deaths and drug-related humanitarian crisis with an aim to eliminate the danger from society.
A special assembly was conducted on 27th June 2022 to observe the International Anti – Drug Day to highlight the dangers of drug use and to stimulate a sense of responsibility among the students to stay away from the drug menace. A short act on how young individuals fall for drugs was also enacted to spread awareness among students.
The assembly was concluded by Vice Principal, Mrs. Sheetal Kumar, who addressed all the challenges posed by drug abuse and how they can seek help for the same.
