World Heart Day is celebrated every year on 29th September. It was started by the World Heart Federation. It was aimed at informing people around the world about cardiovascular diseases (CVD). The theme for this year is ‘USE HEART FOR EVERY HEART’.
To use the heart is to think differently and act accordingly towards the other human being. To impart the message to students, a special assembly was conducted for class 11 and 12 on 29th September 2022. The assembly began with a short history on why World Heart Day is celebrated and what is the aim of this day. The students performed a skit to make the audience realize the importance of first aid during a heart attack. The skit also focused on the signs and symptoms of heart attack.
On the occasion of World Heart Day, Dr.Shareen Castello was invited to deliver a session on the topic Healthy Heart Habits and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). She enlightened the students about the tips to keep our heart healthy and how to give first aid if someone gets a heart attack. The assembly was concluded with a vote of thanks and the Vice Principals presented a token of love to the guest speaker.
