“Be like a coconut soft internally and strong externally”.
-Quote taken from the internet.
Every year, September 2 is celebrated as World Coconut Day. This day aims to raise awareness about the use and benefits of coconuts across various industries. The day is about coconut as a nutritious fruit, a crucial raw material and a significant crop. After all, it is one of the most versatile natural gifts. The World Coconut Day theme for this year is “Growing Coconut for a Better Future and Life”. To make the students aware of the importance of the coconut tree the theme for the No Schoolbag Day was Coco Fungama.
Students came dressed in green, brown and white coloured. The school corridor boards were beautifully decorated based on the theme. Various activities related to the coconut tree and its parts such as craft work using coconut shells, coconut palm, coconut flower, coconut shell dance, drawing and colouring were conducted for students of classes 1 – 5. Students were explained about the importance and significance of the coconut tree.
Students went home smiling and happy with memories to cherish.
