30th January marks the death anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. It was on this date back in 1948 when Gandhi ji was assassinated by Nathuram Godse at the Birla House in New Delhi. The Government of India announced that 30th January will be observed as ‘Shaheed Diwas’. The day is also observed as ‘Martyrs’ Day’ to commemorate the sacrifices of our freedom fighters towards our country.
A special assembly was conducted to mark the significance of ‘Martyrs’ Day’ by students of class 11 on 31st January 2023. The sacrifices of our freedom fighters were acknowledged by the students during the assembly. A short documentary, “remembering Mahatma Gandhi” was displayed, which highlighted the innumerable sacrifices of the father of our nation.
