Vidya Vikas Academy, Margao held its annual elections for school officials for the academic year 2023-24 in the month of June. The entire procedure and the Code of Conduct of the election process was observed to familiarize the students with the democratic set up.
The candidates were nominated for the posts of School Captains and House Captains, based on a fixed criteria. The nominated candidates canvassed on 26th June 2023, displaying their symbols, delivering speeches and persuading the voters to vote for them. 27th June 2023 was the polling day, where in the students of Classes 8-10 voted through secret ballot, in the presence of the staff on duty by ticking against the name and symbol of the candidate of their choice on the ballot paper. Opening of ballot boxes and counting of votes took place on the same day in the presence of the candidates and the Election committee.

The Investiture Ceremony was scheduled on 1st July, 2023 at 11.00 am in the VVA School Hall. The ceremony commenced with the March of the Student Council with band and flags placed in the background followed by traditional lighting of the lamp by the Principal, Vice-Principal, Head Boy and Head Girl. A welcome dance was performed which spell bound the audience and enhanced the vibrancy of the event. Thereafter, the school officials were administered the Oath by the Principal Mrs. Joble Bijoy, in the presence of the staff and the parents of the school officials.
Each school official expressed their thoughts about how they plan to be a school ambassador followed by lighting of the candles. They all sang a song “This Little Guiding Light” as a sign of acknowledgement of the responsibility that lies ahead. The Head Girl proposed the Vote of thanks. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the School Anthem.
