ATL Monthly Report

With an objective to foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds and inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing, rapid calculations, measurements etc, the Atal Tinkering Labs provide the young minds with a chance to work with tools and equipment which will enable them to understand the what, how and why aspects of STEM.

3D printing or Additive manufacturing is revolutionizing the whole industry and it’s not wrong to say that the future is 3D. From the perspective of growth and development and to foster the ability of the students to create, 3D printing designing was introduced to the students.

Another technological advancement that is on a rising tide is in the field of electronics. Moore’s law states that, “the number of transistors on a microchip doubles about every two years, though the cost of computers is halved” and it perfectly defines the current trend. The topic ‘Micro-controllers and Transistors’ was introduced to the students to provide them with a brief insight into electronic advancements.

As part of the monthly project, a Quad-copter was assembled using the cc3d flight controller.
