Vidya Vikas Academy observed World Autism Awareness Day on 1st April, 2023. The Light It Up Blue Campaign is internationally observed on 2nd April, 2023 to increase understanding and acceptance of people with autism and to foster world wide support.
The students of the Life-Skills Resource Room showcased their unique talents through a special assembly held in the activity hall. The program commenced with a meaningful prayer followed by a beautiful action song ‘Give a little love’. Owais Moosa Baig recited a thought provoking poem. Mrs. Matilda a parent, expressed about her son Derick’s memorable journey since the age of three. The students also sang a song to praise God for all the blessings bestowed upon them. Certificates and medals were presented to Maxwel, Derick and Naman for their brilliant performance at UDAAN, a sports festival organised by Nirmaan in collaboration with Special Olympics, Bharart at BITs Pilani, Goa campus. The students were also thrilled to receive certificates of appreciation for their extraordinary qualities from the school.
The children presented their parents with flowers to express their love and gratitude for all they do for them. Mrs. Ruth Sequeira was presented with a potted plant as a token of love and appreciation for her dedication and selfless service towards our students over the years. The programme ended with a foot tapping performance by the students to the tune of La Bamba which was appreciated by the audience.
Our Principal, Mrs. Joble Bijoy acknowledge and thanked the children, parents and teachers for their efforts and dedication. The staff of Vidya Vikas Academy wore blue in support and solidarity to the Light It Up Blue Campaign.
