World Autism Awareness Day was observed on the 1st April, 2024. It is internationally observed to promote understanding and acceptance of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and seeks to foster inclusivity and support to individuals with Autism.
In keeping with the theme for the year 2024,’Colour’, the parents were twinning with their children in colours of their choice. The program commenced with a prayer to evoke God’s blessing, followed by a beautiful hymn ‘A Gift to You’, sung by our dear students. Our student Jace recited a thought provoking quote on Autism. The students were thrilled to receive certificates to appreciate their strengths and qualities.
An activity session was organized to showcase the skill that the child has achieved through the academic year. They were given an activity keeping in mind the interest, ability and potential of the child. The program ended with a parent child bonding activity, wherein the duo had to decorate the initial alphabet of the child’s name with creative collage material of their preference.
Principal, Mrs.Joble Bijoy thanked the children and parents for their efforts and dedication. The staff of Vidya Vikas Academy wore vibrant colours in solidarity towards Autism.
