Vidya Vikas Academy advanced in sparking students’ interest in chemistry through a specialized talk on October 10, 2023, titled ‘Chemistry in Everyday Life and the Structure of the Atom.’ The primary objectives were to enhance the subject’s approachability for students in classes 9 and 10 and instill a deeper appreciation for its practical applications. Dr. Daniel Coutinho, a distinguished professor from Carmel College Nuvem, skillfully addressed these goals through an engaging presentation. His focus on illustrating the practical relevance of chemistry in daily activities, such as cooking and respiration, effectively bridged the gap between theory and the real world, making the subject more relatable.
After the session, the students now had a heightened appreciation for chemistry; they left with a profound understanding of its practical implications.
