Gandhi Jayanti

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”

‘Gandhi Jayanti’ is observed on 2nd October every year. And this year marks the 153rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It commemorates the birth of the nation’s father, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, often known as Mahatma Gandhi or Bapuji. This day is also known as the International Day of Nonviolence because Gandhiji was a preacher of non-violence and was a symbol peace and honesty.

To commemorate the national festival of Gandhi Jayanti, the Primary students of Vidya Vikas Academy conducted a special assembly on 30th September 2022.

The main objective of the assembly was to inculcate Gandhian values and to sow seeds of humanity.

The assembly began with a prayer and a beautiful thought that gave an insight on how Gandhiji led the nation towards the freedom struggle and realized the dreams of Indians for free India, for which he happily sacrificed his life.

The assembly culminated with slogans, an inspirational action song, poem and speech about Gandhiji, which not only made the students aware of Bapu’s contributions towards India’s freedom struggle but also enabled them to understand the concept of honesty, truth, non-violence and love for humanity. A power point presentation depicting the life of Gandhiji was presented to the students. As a tribute to the Great Leader, who was a pioneer of truth and non-violence, the assembly culminated the life of Gandhi spreading the words of motivation to imbibe the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.
