The Primary students of Vidya Vikas Academy observed ‘No School Bag Day’ as well as World Nature Conservation Day on 28th July,2023 with great enthusiasm and commitment to promote environmental awareness and conservation among its students.
The event aimed to promote eco-friendly activities, build a stronger relationship with environment, and raise awareness about the necessity of waste reduction and natural resource conservation.
As part of the celebration, students and staff went on nature walks throughout the campus. These treks gave participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of their surrounds, fostering an appreciation for the environment. During the hikes, teachers also taught the pupils about the local flora and fauna, emphasizing the importance of protecting them.
The event’s major message was to promote the three R’s of environmental conservation: recycle, reuse, and reduce.
To underline the importance of decreasing single-use plastic and supporting sustainable practices, pupils worked on making paper bags and packets. These environmentally friendly alternatives were designed to replace the traditional plastic bags often used in pharmacies. The goal was to promote the distribution and use of these biodegradable bags as a more environmentally friendly and responsible option.
Posters and banners were used to promote the event’s awareness campaigns.
The observance of No School Bag Day and World Nature Conservation Day served as a powerful reminder of the urgent need to protect the environment and conserve our natural resources.
Such initiatives at the educational level play a vital role in nurturing a generation of environmentally conscious individuals who will contribute positively to the global conservation efforts.
