The concept of school herbal garden was initiated in the year 2016.
A variety of herbal plants such as Noni, Pimpli, Dhoop Tulsi, Manpatri, Lemon Grass, Krishnavasa, Hadjod, Shatavari, Aloe vera, Kirayte, Insulin plant and Brahmi are nurtured in the school herbal garden.
It has been a relentless effort to enrich the children with the knowledge and usefulness of commonly available and frequently used herbal plants and inculcate a sense of familiarity from childhood with surrounding bio diversity and its conservation.
The school has always taken efforts in maintaining the herbal garden to raise awareness of the need for conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity resources, particularly the medicinal plants.
A herbal garden reflects the long‐ standing tradition of conserving and using plant products for healthcare and cooking. But while herbal plants are in demand, the traditions and culture associated with them are fading.
So why not nurture and promote school’s own little garden full of herbs.
