Human Rights Day is observed every year on 10th December. It is a day the United Nations General Assembly adopted, in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The UDHR is a milestone document, which proclaims the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being – regardless of race, colour, religion, gender, language and birth. Available in more than 500 languages, it is the most translated document in the world.
The theme for 2021 is ‘Equality- Reducing inequalities, advancing human rights’. It reiterates that – “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights”.
Human Rights Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in VVA. A virtual assembly video was shared on 10th December, 2021 for the students of classes 6 to 10.
The video highlighted the recognition of fundamental values of every person by acknowledging and respecting their human rights.
