An introductory session on Aero-modelling was organised for the students of class 9 on 9th April, 2022. The session was conducted by Cdr T.R.A. Narayanan, an Aero-modelling enthusiast and member of the Aeromodellers Association of India, and retired Indian Navy Commander. During the session, the students were shown the flight demonstration of various models such as the Indoor Rubber Powered model, “The Fly”, the Catapult model, “Vyas” and one of the contest models, “Topsin”. One of the Outdoor Rubber Powered model, the “Javelin” was also displayed to the students.
The students were also given an insight into the science behind the flight of the models. The speaker explained about the various forces involved in making the flight of the flying objects successful. The main aim of the session was to brief students about the vast world of flying and ignite a spark in them to make them future Aero-modelling enthusiasts. The students were also briefed about various competitions and events in which they could participate.
