The students of the Life Skills Resource Room visited a restaurant in Fatorda on the 13th of October to get acquainted with eating out at a restaurant. The students were accompanied by their teachers.
The children were made to sit comfortably and were allowed to move about freely without disturbing anyone. According to the child’s preferences snacks and drinks were ordered. The restaurant staff were very kind and saw to their needs.
Through this restaurant experience, the children enjoyed the bus ride, they learnt to sit at the table and wait for their snacks. The children ate independently and a few were assisted with a slight help from the teachers. They were encouraged to share and finish, whatever was ordered to avoid wastage.
Such outings are valuable opportunities for students in Life Skills Resource Rooms to learn and practice important skills in a real-world setting.
