National Handloom Day Special Assembly

Vidya Vikas Academy celebrated National Handloom Day.  A special assembly was conducted on August 7, 2024. The main objective of the assembly was to recognize and appreciate the cultural and historical significance of handloom weaving in India.

The event included a fashion show that highlighted the significance of handloom traditions from various states, showcasing a variety of handloom items. This immersive experience aimed to deepen the students’ appreciation for preserving and nurturing our rich cultural heritage.

The Handloom pledge was recited as it symbolizes a commitment to support and preserve India’s rich cultural heritage and the livelihoods of millions of weavers.

The key takeaways from this assembly was appreciation of the environmental benefits of handloom textiles, which often involve eco-friendly processes compared to industrial textile production.
