National Sports Day

Sports play a vital role in our lives. Staying fit with the help of physical activities has become a new way of life as it leads to strength and endurance.

Education without sports activities is incomplete. Holistic development of a child is possible only when he/she is physically fit and emotionally balanced. To stress on the importance of sports, ‘National Sports Day’ is celebrated on the 29th of August every year. This day marks the birth anniversary of the Indian Hockey player, Major Dhyan Chand Singh. On this occasion, a special assembly video was uploaded for the Senior Secondary section depicting the life and achievements of Major Dhyan Chand Singh. Students were also made aware about the TOKYO Olympics 2020 held recently and the renaming of the Khel Ratna award in the name of Major Dhyan Chand.
