The activity of the month for September, titled ‘Pick and Speak’ was conducted for the Humanities section of Vidya Vikas Academy. The primary objective of the Pick and Speak elocution activity was to enhance public speaking skills among the students, encouraging spontaneous expression and critical thinking. By selecting topics like “Environmental degradation”, “The Importance of Education,” “Climate Change and Its Impact,” “My Inspiration” and “The Role of Technology in Modern Life.” from a diverse range of areas, the activity aimed to foster a deeper understanding of various subjects and improve students’ confidence in articulating their thoughts, spontaneity and peer interaction.
The Pick and Speak activity significantly enriched students’ knowledge on various topics, reinforcing the importance of preparation and adaptability in public speaking. Participants left with a greater appreciation for the subjects discussed and a newfound confidence in their ability to articulate their ideas spontaneously. Overall, the activity successfully achieved its goal of promoting effective communication skills among humanities students.
