‘Plant a Tree today for a better tomorrow’ ‘Van Mahotsav is an annual one- week tree planting festival in India, which is celebrated in the 1 st week of July i.e., from 1 st July to 7 th July.
It was started in 1950 by K.M Munshi who was the Union Minister for Agriculture and Food. Van Mahotsav Day is observed to spread awareness about the importance of forests, woodlands and trees in our life. A special assembly on Van Mahotsav Day was conducted for the Pre-Primary section on 7 th July, The assembly began with a short prayer to invoke God’s blessings. The students of Senior Kg B beautifully explained the significance of this day and the importance of trees in our life followed by an action song depicting love for trees. Variety of saplings were planted by the respective class teachers along with the students. The teacher explained the importance of planting trees and protecting the environment.
