On 11th December, 2021, a group of students of class 11 were given the opportunity to participate in the prestigious event: India International Science Festival 2021, with the aim of setting a new Guinness World Record for the greatest number of rockets launched by students. Twenty-five students and two teachers attended the event. The kits to make the rockets along with the paper with instructions were placed in front of them on elongated tables that ran the length of each row.
After a series of videos and eloquent speeches given by distinguished guests and persons, students were provided with lunch, after which they were given two hours to assemble the rockets. They were then taken to a ground where they watched, ecstatic, as students’ rockets were launched high into the sky, one by one, on the sixteen launch pads available. It was a breath-taking view as around 400 rockets were launched. VVA students were given opportunity to launch their rockets first. It was a day to remember.
