The Primary section of Vidya Vikas Academy held No School Bag Day on 28th February, 2024 coinciding with the celebration of National Science Day under the theme “Science Mania”.
A special assembly commenced with a video highlighting the significance of the day, followed by engaging ‘Fun Science Activities’. Students created a model Solar Cooker, anemometer, and experiments demonstrating various properties of air. Special attention was given to inclusivity with an experiment showcasing the use of an alarm watch for students with hearing disabilities. Activities also included experiments on Floating and Sinking, colour mixing, creating creatures from leaves, emulsification demonstrations, and growing Bryophyllum. Traditional home remedies were shared, alongside a lively Quiz on Scientists, Inventions, and National Science Day. Additionally, students explored natural color extraction from items like turmeric and beetroot, using them in nature-themed paintings. Few classes visited Green Aura where students understood the difference between fruiting trees and ornamental plants, learned the names of the plants in Hindi and also about the various uses of different plants, and planted seeds of Rose plants. Overall, it was a fruitful and exciting day of scientific exploration and creativity.
