“Think of giving not only as a duty but as a priviledge.”
Considering this strong opinion by John Rockerfeller, the Sneha Dhara team from Vidya Vikas Academy organised a donation drive from 1st to 17th December 2022. The items collected were donated to Mother Theresa’s orphanage in Quepem.
The students and staff of the school donated stationary, clothes, and groceries. The staff raised a total amount of Rs. 10,000 which was used to partly reimburse the payment done towards an appendicitis operation of a child at the orphanage.
The team consisting of 5 staff and 6 students visited the Mother Theresa’s orphanage, on 20th December 2022 at 1:30 pm. The orphanage houses 18 orphan boys aged 6 to 12 years and looks after their nutrition, education and health. Many of the students have also taken up various professional careers.
The team had an amazing opportunity to interact with the boys as we handed over the things collected during the donation drive. The smile on their face said much more than just a thank you. It was indeed a very exhilarating experience.
