The Bard by the Mandovi – Shakespeare Fest Goa, an inter-school competition-themed “Fantasia,” was hosted by the English department of Parvatibai Chowgule College Of Science and Arts (Autonomous) on 6th October 2023. It was a vibrant showcase of theatrical talent featuring eight competitive teams. The event aimed to celebrate the works of William Shakespeare within the context of the fantastical theme, encouraging creative reinterpretations and innovative performances.
Both onstage and offstage competitions contributed to the dynamic atmosphere of the fest. Onstage presentations involved the enactment of Shakespearean plays and adaptations, all infused with the fantastical element. These performances showcased the teams’ creativity, acting skills, and storytelling prowess. Offstage competitions, including book design, diorama creation, and other creative aspects, added depth and diversity to the overall event. The team’s hard work, meticulous planning, and rehearsed execution culminated in a remarkable presentation, earning us the honor of being recognized as the second runners-up.
