Van Mahotsav is celebrated across India from 01st July to 07th July every year and raises awareness and concern towards deforestation and growing more saplings.
Vidya Vikas Academy conducted a special assembly on Van Mahotsav on 10th July 2023 to raise awareness about deforestation and its direct effects on nature, i.e., the flora and the fauna. The assembly was conducted for class 9 students. After the special prayer service on the abundant providence of trees to us, there was a power point presentation followed by a quiz. The power point presentation highlighted the ill effects of deforestation and stressed on the need for afforestation to save our planet from degradation and extinction. Students enjoyed participating in the quiz. A skit was conducted on the importance of trees. The students pledged to plant saplings in their localities, school and by the roadside so that we leave a clean and nurturing planet for our future generations.
A sapling plantation drive was observed in school with the help of NCC Cadets on the 7th of July 2023. Flowering as well as fruiting saplings were planted.
Everyone had an enriching experience.
