Vidya Vikas Academy, Margao held its annual elections for school officials for the academic year 2022-23 in the month of June. The entire procedure and the Code of Conduct of the election process were observed to familiarize the students with the democratic set up.
The candidates were nominated for the posts of School Captains and House Captains, based on fixed criteria. The nominated candidates canvassed on 21st June 2022, displaying their symbols, delivering speeches and persuading the voters to vote for them. 25th June 2022 was the polling day, where in the students of Classes 8-10 voted through secret ballot, in the presence of the staff on duty by ticking against the name and symbol of the candidate of their choice on the ballot paper. Opening of ballot boxes and counting of votes took place on the same day in the presence of the candidates and the Election committee.

The Investiture Ceremony was scheduled on 2nd July, 2022 at 10.00 am in the VVA School Hall. The ceremony commenced with the welcome dance followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp. Thereafter, the school officials were administered the Oath by the Principal Mrs. Joble Bijoy, in the presence of the staff and the parents of the school officials. Each school official expressed their thought about how they plan to be a school ambassador. Thereafter, they sang a song “This Little Guiding Light” as a sign of acknowledgement of the responsibility that lies ahead. The ceremony concluded with the Vote of thanks by the head girl.
