On 23rd April, on account of World Book Day, Students of Vidya Vikas Academy organized a special assembly to celebrate the joy of reading and literature. This year, the theme for World Book is ‘Read your Way’.
The assembly commenced with a heartfelt poem recitation by Nathan D’Souza from 12B, showcasing his poetic talent and love for literature. Adding to the literary fervor, students of class 12 showcased their creativity through character enactments from the books they had read. As part of the celebration, we were honoured to have Ms. Loretto Rodriguez, Assistant Professor from Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao, as our esteemed resource person who delivered an enlightening talk on the importance of reading books in nurturing intellect, empathy, and imagination. Her insightful discourse provided valuable perspectives on the transformative power of literature.
The day served as a reminder of the profound impact that books and reading have on our lives, enriching our minds and shaping our perspectives. It was a truly memorable celebration of the written word, fostering a culture of literacy and appreciation for literature within our school community.
