World Cancer Day is an international day marked on 4th February to raise
awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment. World Cancer Day is led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to support the goals of the World Cancer Declaration, written in 2008.
This year’s theme marks the second year of the campaign “Close the Care Gap” which wants all to join and call everyone, collectively and individually, to commit to strengthen actions aimed to improve access to quality care, including screening, early detection, treatment and palliative care
The students of the Senior Secondary section of Vidya Vikas Academy conducted a special assembly to inform students about cancer and remove the stigma and fear attached to it. The assembly was concluded with a quiz. The quiz focused on the basic knowledge of cancer and its causes. Students participated with enthusiasm.
