International Day for the Elderly is celebrated on October 1st every year. The day is celebrated to spread awareness about the importance of senior citizens in our society, to make certain the benefits of elder persons in our lives. Senior citizens carry a lot of responsibility on their shoulders as leaders of the society. They also carry the traditions, culture of the society and pass on the knowledge to the younger generation.
A virtual assembly was conducted on the 1st of October, 2021 for classes of 1 to 5. The objective was to make the students understand and realize the importance of having elders in our lives.
The main aim of celebrating the World Elders Day is to appreciate the contributions of the elders. The day is celebrated every year to acknowledge the contributions and wisdom of the elders on our society. The celebration of World Elders Day thus maintains the importance of the elderly angels in our lives.
