World First Aid Day is observed annually on every second Saturday in the month of September and thus, this year it was celebrated on 10 th of September. It is an annual campaign that promotes first aid training to save lives all around the globe.
The theme for this year was 'Lifelong First Aid Learning'. No matter the age, having first aid skills and knowledge helps creating safer and healthier communities. Children and adults should be able to have a quality first aid education. Having this knowledge makes us aware of how we can tackle the potential hazards posed by our surroundings. A lifelong commitment to learning and providing first aid is what makes us more resilient.
A special assembly was conducted on 12th September by the Senior Secondary section of Vidya Vikas Academy. The assembly highlighted the history and importance of first aid day. Students of class 12 Humanities familiarised the audience with the items in the first aid box and their uses. The assembly was concluded with the basic first aid demonstration by Dr. Deepti Sardessai.
