World Heart Day

World Heart Day is an annual observance held on September 29 that is intended to increase public awareness of cardiovascular diseases. It aims to drive action to educate people that by controlling risk factors such as tobacco use, unhealthy diet and physical inactivity, at least 80% of premature deaths from heart disease and stroke could be avoided. To convey the same to students, a special assembly video was prepared on World Heart Day.

This year the theme for World Heart Day is ‘Use Heart To Connect’. It is about using our knowledge, compassion and influence to make sure we, our loved ones and the communities we’re part of, have the best chance to live heart-healthy lives. Some students shared tips on how to live healthy and reduce cardiovascular diseases. Sidhi Naik shared her experience about how she changed her lifestyle and started cycling during lockdown to be healthy and strong. Shreeja Gudi shared a video on healthy drinks like Spinach smoothie which she frequently drinks. Marison D’souza spoke about how to reduce cardiovascular diseases.
