World Ozone Day

Every year, 16th September is observed as ‘World Ozone Day’ to spread awareness among the people about the depletion of the ozone layer and find possible solutions to preserve it.

The theme for this year World Ozone Day is ‘Global Cooperation Protecting life on Earth’

The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 16 September as the International day for the preservation of the ozone layer, commemorating the date of the signing of the Montreal Protocol (1987). The aim or purpose of the Montreal Protocol is to protect the ozone layer by reducing the production and consumption of substances that deplete the ozone layer.

A special assembly was conducted for the pupils of Class 4 ABC on the 16th of September 2022.

The pupils were made aware of the importance of the Ozone layer, which protects the earth from the harmful Ultraviolet rays of the sun, the cause of Ozone depletion and the preventive measures to protect the ozone layer.

The assembly ended with a short Quiz followed by the Pledge to protect the mother earth, save ourselves and protect and conserve natural resources for the future generations.
