World Photography Day is celebrated on August 19 every year. It is a day dedicated to the art, craft, science and history of photography. Also, on this day, the pioneers who inspired others to take up this skill are remembered for their contribution. Photography helps us to document the memorable moments for a lifetime.
The significance of World Photography Day is to create awareness, share ideas and encourage individuals in this field.The theme for World Photography Day 2021 was ‘Pandemic Lockdown Through The Lens’. However, people were encouraged to click their selfies and upload them on social media handles with a tagline as “World Photography Day”.
A special assembly video was uploaded on 19th August 2021 to celebrate World Photography Day, encouraging staff and students to engage in this important medium of storytelling. A short video on the history behind the World Photography Day was also included in the assembly video. The celebration continued as the Senior Secondary section of Vidya Vikas Academy organized a photography contest from 23rd to 28th August for the students and staff of VVA. The theme for the photography contest was ‘Landscape Photography’ and ‘Macro Photography’ for students and staff respectively.
