Committees

At Vidya Vikas Academy, various committees have been established to ensure the smooth functioning of the school, foster a positive learning environment, and address the diverse needs of students, parents, and staff. These committees play a crucial role in maintaining discipline, safety, and inclusivity while promoting student welfare, community participation, and overall school development. Each committee is dedicated to a specific aspect of school life, working collaboratively to uphold the institution’s values and create a nurturing and secure educational space for all.

1. SMC- School Management Committee (SMC)

SMC- School Management Committee (SMC) promotes community interaction and involvement in
the functioning of the school. As per the RTE Act 2009, the SMC aims to enhance parental and
community participation in school activities and provides mechanisms for more effective provisions
of quality education for all children at the school level.

The objectives of the School Management Committee (SMC) are to:
1. Promote community and parental involvement in school activities.
2. Ensure effective school management and accountability.
3. Improve the quality of education for all students.
4. Monitor school policies and resource allocation.
5. Advocate for inclusive and equal education opportunities.


2. School Complaints Committee (POCSO)

The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO) safeguards children against
different forms of sexual abuse and offences.

The objectives of the School Complaints Committee (POCSO) are to:
1. Protect children from sexual abuse.
2. Ensure a safe school environment.
3. Investigate complaints and provide support.


3. Prevention of Sexual Harassment Committee

The committee aims to develop a system to prevent and address cases of sexual harassment and
other forms of gender-based violence within the institution.

The objectives of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Committee are to:
1. Prevent sexual harassment and gender-based violence.
2. Address complaints and provide support.
3. Promote a safe and respectful environment within the institution.

4. Anti-Bullying Committee
For a positive and conducive teaching-learning environment, it is essential that the school remains free from bullying and ragging. This committee ensures the promotion of respectful relationships among students, the school.

The objectives of the Anti-Bullying Committee are to:
1. Prevent bullying and ragging.
2. Promote respectful student relationships.
3. Ensure a positive teaching-learning environment.

5. School Safety Committee
This standing committee consists of two sub-committees:
A) School Surveillance Committee and
B) School Security Committee

6. Anger Free Committee
In a bid to bring about positive change in children, and to eradicate emotions like fear, disrespect, humiliation and hurt, which are the by-products of anger, VVA has become an ”anger-free zone.” This committee will help the students learn the value of “freedom from anger”.

The objectives of the Anger Free Committee are to:
1. Promote freedom from anger.
2. Eradicate negative emotions like fear and disrespect.
3. Encourage positive emotional growth in students.

7. Disaster Management Committee ( D.O.E)
The Disaster Management Committee is responsible for ensuring the safety and preparedness of students, staff, and school property during emergencies. It coordinates, contacts, and communicates to facilitate an effective response in case of an emergency.

The objectives of the Disaster Management Committee are to:
1. Ensure safety and preparedness during emergencies.
2. Coordinate and communicate effective responses.
3. Protect students, staff, and school property.

8. Grievance Redressal Committee
The Grievance Redressal Committee provides a supportive and transparent mechanism for addressing the concerns of students, parents, and staff. Its goal is to resolve issues fairly while promoting a positive and inclusive school environment.

The objectives of the Grievance Redressal Committee are to:
1. Address concerns of students, parents, and staff.
2. Resolve issues fairly and transparently.
3. Promote a positive and inclusive school environment.
